Handcrafted Electric Violins

Emmett Electric Violins is a one-man operation where each violin is handcrafted individually using traditional tools. These unique electric violins are available in both 4 and 5-string configurations.

Founded in 2020, Emmett Electric Violins emerged after over a decade of playing fiddle professionally on the road. I attended formal violinmaking school to master the craft. When the school closed due to COVID, I sought to refine the tool skills I was acquiring. Using some spare wood, I designed a prototype for a solid body electric violin that incorporated elements I was learning in school. The template I created features a top shape inspired by the Guarneri Du Diable violin, aiming to produce a lightweight and minimalistic electric violin. My goal was to capture the feel, look, and sound of an amplified violin with a modern twist. Over the years, this design evolved and gained popularity among players of various styles, leading to the birth of Emmett Electric Violins.

Every handcrafted violin is meticulously made using traditional methods and tools. All finishes are applied entirely by hand, and each pickup is individually crafted to enhance the unique qualities of these handcrafted violins.
